Stitches!

So I guess we're lucky that we've gone a whole 2 years without any major injuries yet with this girl, but I guess there's a first for everything. This happened last night. She was walking around on the bed and we told her, "sit down so you don't fall off." And sure enough one second later she fell off head first and smacked her head right on the edge of the entertainment center in our hotel room. We hurried and picked her up and the blood started coming right away and then we saw it, her skull. It wasn't a very long cut but it was deep clear down to the bone and it was pretty wide open. Off course we were freaking out having this be the very first time anything too terrible has happened to our little girl. So we ran to the lobby and told them to call 911, meanwhile she's screaming and won't stop. So the ambulence came and we decided it wasn't as bad as we thought. She was talking to us by now and kind of being herself, so we knew it wasn't too serious, it just definately needed stitches. So we borrowed a friends car and drove 25 miles to the nearest emergency room and got her in right away. She was fine and telling everyone bye and thank you but once the doctor came in she wasn't so happy. So they had to wrap her up tight in a blanket with her arms tied down and a nurse holding her head so tight. Then they had to put all these towels and covers over her face so just her eyes were showing and she just screamed the whole time he put the stitches in and of course I was crying my eyes out just watching her. It was the saddest thing to have to watch them tie down your little girl and she's screaming your name and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm crying right now just thinking about it, not a fun experience. Anyways it was so deep the doctor had to do two layers of stitches so it took a little longer, but they finally uncovered her and I got to hold her and she was fine just a little scared. Then I think the rest of the night she had forgotten everything that had just happened. She's my brave little girl and we're so blessed to have her in our lives. We love her so much and we're glad she's ok. P.S It's Brett's birthday today. Happy Birthday Brett I love you so much!

Omgosh...just the thought of her tied down makes me teary eyed and I'm not even her Mother!
I don't know how she does it but she still manages to be cute even with a gaping wound on her forehead.
Happy Birthday, Brett! I hope you guys have something fun planned for tonight...a hot date perhaps?! :)
Oh, are you guys going to make it to Bear Lake this year? I sure hope so.

Those are the moments that you wish you could switch places with your child! I am so sorry....it breaks my heart.

Looks like an awful cut....nice job documenting it in the heat of the moment.

Man, that made me cry! I can't take that kind of stuff now that I have a little girl! Im glad everything turned out ok..She is so cute and now she can show off her tough looking little mark! I just can't believe she is so big. If feel like we were just sitting on the beach while you were pregnant. Remember how we were talking about if she would be cute of not! I guess we had no need to worry :)

How sad! And scary! I'm glad she's doing fine now. I would have bawled my eyes out too! I have to hold back tears everytime Paige gets her regular shots. Its so hard when your baby is in pain and looking at you like "Why are you letting them do this to me?"

So sad to hear sweet little Taylor had such a bad spill, but I'm glad she's doing well and nothing more serious came of it.

We miss having the Lee's next door. We look forward to your return back to the island.
